What's the story?
The Rock has been on a promotion spree for his new movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle. In a recent interview, he shared an incredible story about watching Hulk Hogan and getting his bandana.
That led to a Twitter exchange between the two with both parties interested in facing each other, once again, and now John Cena had his say regarding the match-up of the two legends.
In case you didn't know...
The Rock and Hogan faced each other at WrestleMania 18 and tore the house down. The match was dubbed ‘Icon vs. Icon’ and it did live up to the expectations of many.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The fight was won by The Rock but this new Twitter exchange has led to rumours of another classic bout.
The heart of the matter
The Twitter exchange between Hogan and The Rock did suggest that the pair were ready to face one another and in an interview with John Cena, The Champ added fuel to the fire by suggesting that anything is possible in the WWE.
In an interview with Fox, the former WWE Champion was asked about the possibility of the two legends facing each other and stated:
“My thoughts are the age-old adage that is WWE. Never say never.”
What's next?
The Rock currently is still working on his promotional work thanks to his new movie releasing, which has actually gotten a number of favourable reviews.
Hogan, on the other hand, is working on something big as well but we are yet to find out what it is all about.
Author's take
Hogan vs. The Rock was one of the matches that caught the attention of millions prior to WrestleMania 18. The fight was a good one as well, as my memory serves, and watching the two in the ring again would certainly take the roof down of every arena.
What would be a major doubt is Hogan getting back into fighting shape but The Rock should be able to carry ‘Hollywood’ easily, so that problem should not be that big a deal.
We have seen a lot of crazy stuff in the WWE over the years and maybe Cena is on to something. The Rock vs. Hogan might not take place at WrestleMania 34 but it could be on the card for some other major pay-per-view.
