WWE News: Kane talks about the 25th anniversary of the Undertaker and Daniel Bryan retiring

Kane has high praise for the Deadman

What’s the story?

Kane recently spoke to the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling about the 25th anniversary of the Undertaker, Vince McMahon’s storytelling, his friendship with Daniel Bryan, main-eventing PPVs with Seth Rollins and more.

In case you didn’t know...

Kane, (real name- Glenn Jacobs), is a 25-year veteran of the pro-wrestling business and has been with WWE since 1997.

The heart of the matter

The Big Red Machine recalled the thousandth episode of Raw and described the atmosphere as the Deadman’s music went off. Here’s what he said:

That Survivor Series was simply amazing. It was the 25th anniversary of The Undertaker and it was a huge deal and just to be involved with it in any capacity was really an honor for me. I remember when we had the 1000th episode of RAW in St. Louis and I was in the ring and I forget what the exact scenario was but basically I was surrounded by the bad guys and then the gong hits and it was just awesome. The crowd was chanting "this is awesome" and I get goose bumps because that is what WWE is all about. I don't know if our audience and the WWE Universe realizes this but we feed off of them as much as they do off of us."

He then went on to call this segment the best piece of storytelling WWE has ever done and praised McMahon and the creative team for pulling it off:

“It is the best piece of epic storytelling that the WWE has ever done...Hats off to Vince McMahon for being able to do that with the creative teams and his vision as well as Taker and as well as my good friend the late Paul Bearer. It was a lot of moving parts and he was always able to make them work smoothly and the finished product was beautiful."

Furthermore, the original Demon also praised his former Team Hell No partner Daniel Bryan, calling him WWE’s everyman who is sincere, genuine and a tremendous talent; besides pointing out their real-life, off-screen friendship as well.

He added that he was immensely pleased with his run as Corporate Kane and called Seth Rollins a ‘young Shawn Michaels’ before signing off.

What’s next?

Kane will be off WWE programming for a few months because he is now running for Mayor of Knox county.

Author’s take

The devil’s favourite demon has earned the moniker of the sport’s most hard-working and professional worker, given the fact that he’s stepped up for WWE on numerous occasions, even during the company’s dark phases during the late 2000s.

Kane’s shoot-talk on his on-screen brother, Undertaker is spot-on, with the goosebumps part being extremely relatable for us as fans.
