What's the Story?

While rumors of Kenny Omega coming to WWE continue to permeate the wrestling community, The Cleaner reminisced on his days in the company's developmental system.

Omega and Heath Slater talked about their past experience in WWE and their desire to wrestle each other again.

In Case You Didn't Know...

Deep South Wrestling was the company's previous developmental system before WWE started working work with Florida Championship Wrestling, which later became NXT.

Omega was signed with Deep South Wrestling from 2005 to 2006 before requesting his release and returning to the independent circuit.

The Heart of the Matter

Omega and Slater's nostalgic discussion arose after a video of both men wrestling each other in Deep South Wrestling was retweeted by Slater, who suggested that they should wrestle again at some point.

Omega would respond to Slater's comments and mentioned that both men previously competed in tag team matches during their time in Deep South Wrestling.

Slater, under the name Heath Miller, was one of Omega's first opponents in Deep South Wrestling according to pro fight databa. They teamed up to take on former WWE superstar Mike Knox and Derrick Neikirk, a former developmental wrestler in WWE.

By 2010, both men would begin to make names for themselves in the professional wrestling world with Omega building his name in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, DDT Pro-Wrestling and NJPW while Slater made his debut as a member of The Nexus.

Slater would become a multi-time tag team champion in WWE while Omega would win a variety of championships in DDT Pro and NJPW, including the coveted IWGP World Heavyweight Championship that he recently lost to Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13.

What's Next?

Omega was been rumored to be considering an offer from WWE, but the belief is that the offer was turned down and the former IWGP Champion plans to pursue a business relationship between NJPW and the newly formed All Elite Wrestling.
