What’s the story?
As reported by Giantbomb.com, Kenny Omega and Xavier Woods met up yet again in order to review the best video games of the year.
The conversation was in jest—with both Omega and Woods firing teasing a potential ‘fight’ between them, only to be broken up by two metaphorical voices representing NJPW & WWE. Omega and Woods revealed their awesome list of 2017’s very best games in detail.
In case you didn’t know…
Kenny Omega and Xavier Woods (real name-Austin Creed) are good friends in real life and famously met up last year so as to review 2016’s best video games.
Keeping in tradition with the same, Omega and Woods followed up in December of 2017, giving fans an expert opinion on this year’s greatest video games.
The heart of the matter
Both performers did include a few games that were released prior to 2017, but worthy nonetheless, as Kenny Omega’s honourable mentions of 2017 were Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, Overcooked and Tekken 7; whereas Xavier Woods’ included Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, Windjammers, and Fire Pro Wrestling World.
Furthermore, Kenny Omega’s top-10 video games for 2017 are as follows—#10 The Mummy Demastered #9 Sonic Mania #8 NieR: Automata #7 Blaster Master Zero #6 Nioh #5 2064: Read Only Memories #4 Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana #3 Persona 5 #2 Super Mario Odyssey #1 Resident Evil 7.
On the other hand, Xavier Woods’ list is as follows—#10 For Honor #9 NieR: Automata #8 Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle #7 Injustice 2 #6 Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment #5 Fire Emblem Warriors #4 Sonic Mania #3 South Park: The Fractured but Whole #2 Battle Chef Brigade #1 Tekken 7.
Kenny Omega and Xavier Woods did insinuate that they’ll meet again in December of next year so as to review yet another (hopefully) great year of gaming for the fans.
What’s next?
Xavier Woods presently performs for the WWE’s SmackDown brand as part of The New Day.
Meanwhile, Kenny Omega is set to defend his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Chris Jericho at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 which will take place on January 4th, 2018 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
Author’s take
Kenny Omega and Austin Creed aka Xavier Woods may very well be two of the world’s most athletic gamers.
For those unaware of the gaming world, rest assured, Omega and Woods truly understand what they’re discussing here, and in case anyone is looking to purchase a cool video game in the days to come, do check out the awesome presentations listed by the WWE and NJPW stars.
