WWE News: Konnor welcomes new baby

What's the story?

WWE is like a family and it seems to get bigger and bigger all the time. Now one SmackDown Superstar and former NXT Tag Team Champion is welcoming a new baby into the world. Because Konnor of the Ascension recently welcomed a new son.

In case you didn't know...

Konnor and Viktor might not have torn the WWE Universe up like some expected them to. But while they were in NXT the broke the record for longest reigning NXT Tag Team Champions and actually solidified themselves as #6 in the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE at 364 days.

The heart of the matter

Konnor and his wife recently welcomed a new son named Elijah. The former NXT Tag Team Champion was more than happy to spread the word.

What's next?

Konnor might not have made it on WWE television in a featured role for a while. But it might only be time until fans see the Ascension rising to the top of the SmackDown Live tag team roster soon enough.

Author's take

I'm not going to lie I was a huge mark for the Ascension while they were in NXT. But since their call up they have been really mismanaged. Konnor and Viktor were given a gimmick some considered a Road Warrior rip-off and they were given verbiage to bury legendary tag teams from the past right off the bat. Since then it was kind of all downhill from there.

Hopefully, they'll get another shot to show what they can do. But it might take a little bit of repackaging first.
