What's the story?
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are two big men who really know how to tear it up in the ring. They use their size well and dominate when given the opportunity. But even after The Wyatt Family's breakup Harper and Rowan have stayed by with each other.
They might have fought in the past, but all brothers fight eventually. The two recently experienced a repackaging and are now known as The Bludgeon Brothers. After weeks of ominous promos to hype their debut, the two finally stepped in the ring under their new personas during WWE's European Tour in Dublin Ireland.
In case you didn't know...
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have the incredible ability as a team as singles competitors but they just haven't been able to get their large feet off the ground much.
But the fact WWE is repackaging these two in a new gimmick would lead some to believe they're not giving up on Harper and Rowan just yet.
The heart of the matter
The long-awaited in-ring debut of Harper and Rowan as The Bludgeon Brothers finally took place and their ring attire is something you've got to see.
It's an interesting choice for ring attire to say the least. They didn't have their huge hammers with them because I'm guessing it would have been an issue at customs. But who knows if they'll have their oversized hardware in tow when they debut on television?
Harper and Rowan tagged alongside The Ascension to take on Breezango and The Colons at the show. This is an interesting choice seeing how The Ascension seems to have become mighty friendly with Breezango on recent episodes of The Fashion Files.
But it is also curious how The Bludgeon Brothers were paired against Breezango. If Harper and Rowan happen to turn out to be "2B" on The Fashion Files those four might be locking up on a much more frequent basis.
What's next?
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan need to take this gimmick and run with it. Those two big guys need to take every ounce of weirdness attached to the idea of this gimmick and make it work. Hopefully, it will get over in its own weird way.
Author's take
I really hope The Bludgeon Brothers turns out to be a successful repackaging for Harper and Rowan. Those two have always been on my radar and it's kind of a shame they still have that Wyatt Family stigma attached to them.
Braun Strowman's rise to the top should be proof-positive that someone can escape the shadow of following the buzzards, let's just hope Harper and Rowan can finally do the same.
