What’s the story?
WWE Smackdown Live Superstar Luke Harper recently spoke with AllWrestling.com during which the former WWE Intercontinental Champion revealed the originator behind The Bludgeon Brothers’ current attire.
In case you didn’t know…
In October of 2017, former Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Eric Rowan made their return to WWE TV, as they once again aligned themselves with each other under the name, The Bludgeon Brothers.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The duo has been on a destructive path ever since making their debut on Smackdown Live, both Harper and Rowan have already defeated the likes of The Hype Bros, The Ascension, and Breezango and are already in contention to receive a shot at the Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles.
The heart of the matter
While speaking with AllWrestling.com, Harper opened up about the current attire that is being used by The Bludgeon Brothers and the person who originally came up with the idea of both Harper and Rowan carrying giant mallets.
On the origins of The Bludgeon Brothers:
Harper claimed that it was originally Vince McMahon who came up with the idea of both Harper and Rowan carrying giant mallets around with themselves, most notably during their entrance.
"That came about with me and [Rowan] being frustrated with sitting backstage. Meeting with Vince [McMahon] and brainstorming to the point that this was born. And basically, when he told us we could carry giant mallets around, we said, 'Sold!'"
On his dirty Wyatt Family tank top:
Harper added that he initially started wearing the white tank top during his time in the Independent circuit, back in 2007-2008, most notably in Chikara Pro. Additionally, Harper also admitted to the fact that during his time with the Wyatt Family he used the very same tank top that he had previously worn on the Indy scene.
The former NXT Tag Team Champion also shared a hilarious story claiming that back in Chikara Pro, he used to wipe the floors with his tank tops and eventually used them to compete in the ring.
What’s next?
As aforementioned, it looks like the duo of Harper and Rowan are likely to receive a shot at the WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Titles, most probably at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, on the 8th of April, 2018.
Author’s Take
Personally, I think both The Usos and The Bludgeon Brothers are capable of bringing the house down at WrestleMania if they compete for the Smackdown Live Tag Titles at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
I think it is about time for Harper and Rowan win some Tag Title gold.
