He was a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33. Rumours had emerged of Mark Henry saying that he was going to fade away because he wanted fans to remember his work from his prime.
The heart of the matter
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Mark Henry put an end to all the rumours:
I am not retired. There is still a lot I can do
The superstar elaborated upon why retirement was an appealing option for him, at this stage in his life:
I love the WWE, I love the company, but I have two kids and they want me home. They want me to see their recitals and sporting events, and I want to see them grow and evolve.
My dad didn’t live with me when I was growing up, and he missed so much. I am not going to repeat that.
What's next?
In WWE, you never say never. We wonder if Mark Henry is due for another wrestling appearance at the Royal Rumble or maybe at WrestleMania 34? The possibilities are very many!

Mark Henry is a shadow of the performer he once was. I understand that after years of being in the limelight, fading away is never an appealing option, but it may be the right one for Henry, speaking purely as a fan of the amazing superstar.
