What's the story?
There has been much speculation about the status of Mark Henry in the WWE. While some reports have said that the WWE legend has retired, he's gone on to say that he's not.
Henry was a guest on Busted Open Radio with Bully Ray and Dave Lagreca where he mentioned that he'd signed on as an Ambassador with WWE. We thank Wrestlingnews.co for the heads up.
In case you didn't know...
While Mark Henry has never exactly been the face of WWE, he's been a mainstay in the company for very many years. Adopting the gimmick of the 'World's Strongest Man', he's been a central character across many eras in WWE.

In the time that he's been with the company, Henry has also picked up gold on several occasions. He's been World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Champion and also a European Champion for the company.
The heart of the matter
Despite the fact that Mark Henry has wrestled as recently as 2017, he is no longer the same athlete that he was in his prime. He's gone on record to say that he wants people to remember him for the athlete he was then, as opposed to his current state of being.
By signing on as an ambassador, Henry can use his name and fame to still remain associated with the company he loves, and in a way, remain in the limelight too. Henry is the last relic of the most popular era of wrestling, and can do great things as an ambassador.
What's next?
We wonder if Mark Henry will be a part of the Royal Rumble match, or the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this year, as a wrestler.
Author's take
It's great to see how much passion Henry has for the business. I've been a fan right from the Nation of Domination days, and I never thought that so many years later, he'd still be such an integral component of the business.
All the best to Mark Henry for this brand new role!
