WWE News: Matt Hardy explains why he is not broken, for now...

The Hardy's defended their tag titles on Raw this week...

What’s the story?

The pro wrestling world has been buzzing ever since the Hardy Boyz returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33. For the most part, the Hardy’s are back to their WWE personas as opposed to their broken ones. Matt took to Twitter to address the matter:

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

In case you didn’t know...

The new owners of Impact Wrestling, Anthem, have been threatening legal action against the Hardys for their use of the broken gimmick. Reby Hardy revealed on Twitter that the Hardys own the rights to the gimmick as they filed for a trademark three weeks prior to the expiry of their contracts.

The heart of the matter

This is a simple explanation to the hardcore fans who are wondering where the broken persona is.

The first reason is that the WWE doesn't want to risk legal action. The other could be because there are many casual WWE fans that have not seen this side of the Hardy’s.

What’s next?

After their victory over Enzo and Cass, Sheamus and Cesaro are now the number one contenders for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. This match will probably take place at Payback on April 30, 2017.

Author’s take

I can understand the frustrations of some fans who want the broken gimmick. It is one of the best ideas we've seen in professional wrestling in quite some time. However, we need to look at this situation from multiple angles.

There is a good chance that the Hardys will be broken once more. Vince McMahon knows it is a money maker for sure. The great part about the Hardy’s coming in “fairly” normal is the fact that there is a chance to tell a whole new story leading to something....WONDERFUL!
