What's the story?

Mike Kanellis was one of the biggest signings that WWE made in 2017, but somehow he has slipped down the ranks over the past year, but he himself doesn't believe that he needs a push on WWE TV.

In case you didn't know...

Kanellis was brought to WWE alongside his wife and former Diva Search contestant Maria Kanellis back at Money in the Bank in 2017. He already had quite the reputation after spending a number of years under contract with Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor where he was known as Mike Bennett.

When he was signed by WWE, Bennett adopted his wife's surname and made his debut on the SmackDown brand, but he was unable to make the desired impact, so he was pushed down the ranks.

The heart of the matter

The fact that Maria found out that she was expecting the couple's first child merely months after his debut in WWE meant that a lot of plans for the couple had to be scrapped and it left Kanellis off WWE TV for a while, where he was able to hit the gym and get into the best shape of his career.

Maria has made her return to WWE since giving birth to the couple's first child last year and is now working alongside her husband on 205 Live, it's hoped that this could be the start of a push for The Miracle, but Kanellis himself doesn't believe that he needs WWE to push him.

What's next?

Kanellis continues to perform on the 205 Live brand where he is part of one of the most underrated divisions in WWE but the stars continue to push for the spotlight that they deserve and Kanellis seems to be enjoying pushing himself.
