Tonight, FS1 will telecast the “Evolution of Punk” documentary which highlights the journey of the former WWE Champion to the octagon. To promote this documentation, along with his upcoming UFC 203 bout, CM Punk recently spoke with Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg. UFC 203 will be taking place on September 10th, 2016, at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
As the interview started, Punk clarified that he wants people to witness this change in his lifestyle, and cites it as a reason which led him to accept the proposal for this documentary. He wants his fans to realise how hard a fighter has to train for a match. Although the Straight Edge Superstar agrees that part of the documentary may seem boring to some people, he believes that it will excite everyone else.
Rosenberg then questioned Punk about the comments made by Conor McGregor regarding the pro-wrestlers. Punk answered by saying that the WWE locker room once had legit tough wrestlers, but he feels that one doesn’t need to be tough to maintain their spot in the locker room these days.

He feels that there have been massive changes within the company since he decided to leave. After observing the Twitter war, Punk thinks that Conor successfully “trolled” the pro-wrestling supporters and claims that fighting over Twitter is nothing but embarrassing.
He says that he was actually shocked by the responses from the WWE wrestlers and feels that they should have known ‘better’.
When asked about his first UFC match against Mickey Gall, Punk mentioned that he feels amazing after such training so hard and wishes he could fight as soon as possible. The former WWE Champion agreed that he has a lot to prove in that match but he is confident about his victory. Punk feels that he has never been so confident about winning something in his life and also promised to get back into the octagon as early as he can after he finishes with Gall.
Rosenberg lastly asked Punk about the anxiousness of his wife AJ Lee, who will be witnessing him in a ‘real’ fight very soon. “She's more freaked out that I am not eating pancakes with her every day,” Punk remarked.
Do you think a fight between CM Punk and Conor McGregor would materialise in the future? After all, Punk is a Welterweight, and McGregor has shown that he isn’t averse to fighting at the weightclass by headlining two events opposite Nate Diaz at 170 pounds.
