What’s the story?

At a recent NXT Live event in Orlando, Florida a new four-man faction made their NXT debut. The faction reportedly features Marcel Barthel, Christopher Dijak, Fabian Aichner, and former NXT Tag Team Champion, Buddy Murphy.

In case you didn’t know…

Marcel Barthel, formerly known as Axel Dieter Jr. is a former wXw and Progress Wrestling star who signed for WWE in June of 2017. Barthel was one of the top prospects in European wrestling before being recruited by the WWE. He is also a former wXw Unified World Champion and two-time wXw World Tag Team Champion and was also a part of a popular faction called Ringkampf.

Christopher Dijak, also known as Donovan Dijak, is a former ROH star who also signed for WWE a few months ago. Dijak was one of Ring of Honor’s top prospects but made a name for himself after wrestling in various Independent promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Beyond Wrestling. Dijak made his NXT debut in September in a losing effort to Aleister Black.

Fabian Aichner is someone who is a much more familiar name to NXT fans. He made his WWE debut earlier this year in the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic tournament. Before signing with WWE he was one of the top European stars and wrestled for promotions such as IPW: UK, OTT Wrestling, and New European Championship Wrestling.

The heart of the matter

The new faction made their debut in tremendous fashion at NXT’s latest live event in Orlando, Florida. As reported by some NXT fans on Twitter, it seems like the trio of Barthel, Dijak, and Aichner made their way down to the ring and approached former NXT Tag Team Champion, Buddy Murphy, and offered him the opportunity to join them, which he accepted.

The trio of Dijak, Aichner, and Murphy then faced the current NXT Tag Team Champions, Sanity, in a six-man tag team match on the night, as Barthel watched his stablemates in action from ringside. Judging by Barthel’s actions it seems like that the former Ringkampf member will lead this faction from the front.

What’s next?

Both Barthel and Dijak are yet to make their NXT TV debuts.

Fans could possibly also see this faction make their TV debut really soon.

Author’s Take

I like this idea of the brand new faction and will certainly bring a fresh vibe to NXT TV and adds to NXT’s other factions - The Undisputed Era and Sanity. Buddy Murphy will also benefit a lot from this move and might finally get some TV time.
