In case you didn’t know...
Besides boasting a highly-respectable pro-wrestling resume that spanned 26 years, Shawn Michaels (Michael Shawn Hickenbottom) is no stranger to movies either, having starred in the WWE Studios and Blumhouse Tilt film The Resurrection of Gavin Stone earlier this year.
The 51-year old HBK also hosts outdoor TV show Shawn Michaels’ Macmillian River Adventures.
The heart of the matter
WWE Studios has reportedly teamed-up with Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for a new movie titled Pure Country: Pure Heart starring Shawn Michaels and Willie Nelson that is set to release on August 1st, 2017 on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital HD. A synopsis of the movie’s plot is as follows-
Pure Country: Pure Heart” is the moving, music-driven tale of teenage sisters Ada and Piper. Upon discovering a letter about their late father, a Marine who died in Iraq, they leave rural Tennessee and hit the road secretly in search of the truth about the man they never knew. As they uncover his past as a budding country music star, the sisters find their own voice, beginning their journey as singers/songwriters.
The movie also stars Cozi Zuehlsdorff as Piper Spencer and Kaitlyn Bausch as Ada Spencer, as the aforementioned teenage sister-duo.

What’s next?
Pure Country: Pure Heart is targeted for an August 1st release and fans of both professional wrestling and country music can catch HBK and Nelson in the WWE Studios/Warner Bros. movie.
Author’s take:
I, being a country boy, this movie truly does give me goosebumps. Now I know this isn’t as high-profile a movie, as say The Rock’s F&F franchise or Batista’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2, but watching my favourite WWE wrestler and country singer in the same movie is truly intriguing to me.
This is something I’ll say till the end of time- Pure Country: Pure Heart- Country Boy for life!
