What's the story?

On last night's SmackDown Live, Mustafa Ali went toe-to-toe with the Viper and visibly came off worse - losing the match and sustaining a pretty brutal black eye in the process. Well, the former Heart and Soul of 205 Live took to Twitter to show off his war wounds - and prompted a response from a certain Nia Jax!

In case you didn't know...

Last year on RAW, Nia Jax made a huge name for herself when she changed the plans of WWE in a very big way with a single punch.

Then-SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch assaulted RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey backstage before orchestrating an ambush on the RAW Women's Team ahead of Survivor Series.

However, Lynch was left bloodied after a huge punch from Nia Jax left the blue brand's Women's Champion with a major concussion and a broken face - which stopped her from competing in their scheduled match and shelved The Man for a very long time.

The heart of the matter

Mustafa Ali sustained an incredibly brutal black eye at the hands of Randy Orton last night as the pair faced off ahead of their multi-man clash for the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber in a match that saw the former 205 Live man get more than a loss in the record books for his trouble.

What's since followed, though, is a tweet from Nia Jax perfectly designed to get heat, given her history of giving people black eyes in WWE. You can see the tweet below.

What's next?

Well, probably seeing out of one eye for quite a while for Mustafa Ali, as that is quite the shiner! As for any other developments, we'll keep you updated.

What do you think of Jax's tweet? Let us know in the comments.
