WWE News: Original plans for tag team contest at WWE Payback

Enzo’s concussion forced WWE to rethink the tag team championship plans

WWE’s scripts for its stars are usually set in stone, but every now and then the company can’t help becoming a victim of circumstance and that’s exactly what happened at the recent WWE Payback event – reports wrestlinginc.com.

The planned strategy in the face-off between The Vaudevillains and Enzo Amore and Big Cass at the recent WWE Payback was to see Simon Gotch and Aiden English triumph over the latter in order to become the new number one contenders to rival WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day.

The rumour mill even spun out the possibility of the Dudley Boyz costing Enzo and Cass the match in order for the Vaudevillains to progress ahead.

However, Enzo suffered a concussion during the match, which was declared a no contest by WWE, throwing cold water on the original plan in the process.

Amore is currently in good health following his nasty injury, but will certainly spend some time on the sidelines and will have to undergo a concussion test before he steps into the ring again.

Here’s hoping WWE’s new fan favourite makes a speedy recovery.
