What’s the story?
Matt "Rosey" Anoa'i’s funeral was conducted today. As reported earlier, the former WWE Tag Team Champion passed away on Monday at the age of 47 due to a congestive heart failure. His younger brother Roman Reigns and Rikishi – Rosey’s cousin – were spotted together at the funeral along with many of his family members.
In case you didn’t know...
While a congestive heart failure was said to be the primary cause of his death, Rosey’s health was deteriorating for many years. He had put on a lot of weight and was said to have recurring problems with his kidney. He weighed in at 450 pounds opposed to his original weight of 350 at the time of his death.

As expected, Roman Reigns was taken off all the live events of the weekend as a result of the heartbreaking news.

Impact
Being WWE Hall of Famer Sika’s son, the brother of Roman Reigns and a former WWE Superstar himself, WWE was obligated to air a tribute video on the episodes of RAW and SmackDown last week in memory of the late Samoan star.
As mentioned above, Reigns was pulled off from the Raw live events, though he is expected to be back for next week’s Raw.
Author’s take
While Rosey’s death did come as a big shock, it’s really heartening to know that he was upbeat and vibrant despite his declining health. The Anoa’i’s are a lively bunch who know how to commemorate their loved ones and we’re sure their get over the sad loss.
