What’s the story?
Kevin Owens is set for an early return and it was confirmed on Monday Night RAW. The Superstar cut a promo from a bowling alley where he revealed that he is just around a month away from making his in-ring return.
In case you didn’t know…
Owens underwent two surgeries on his knees last year after getting injured in a match against Bobby Lashley. He was initially set to have surgery on his injured right knee but then went on to have both his knees worked on.

The heart of the matter
The former Universal Champion was initially set to return in April, after WrestleMania but plans have changed. WWE have new plans in place for Owens and it will be interesting to see how they use him.
Owens confirmed that he has only got the signal for a comeback and has no other information right now. He even noted that he has no clue on which brand he will be – he was on RAW when he got injured but was initially drafted to SmackDown, where he was fired by Shane McMahon.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that KO will be a babyface upon his return and his bowling ally promo hinted that it could be of a common man, rather than a fit athlete. He said:
“The idea is he’s the anti-Mr. Perfect. I guess the idea is that Kevin Owens is your everyday guy, you know like your next door neighbour who is a complete athletic clod.” [H/T Ringside News]
What’s next?
Owens as a babyface has always been an interesting watch and is good enough to work with almost everyone in the company right now. Who WWE have in mind as his opponent on his return is still a mystery and we'll have to wait for a month to find out.
