On this week’s Smackdown Live, you would have noticed a little difference in Primo and Epico Colon’s ring attire. They have ditched the traditional wrestling trunks for pants as you can see in the GIF below:

In case you didn’t know..
Primo and Epico Colon were a part of the Superstar Shake-up a few weeks back coming over from Monday Night Raw. Wearing street clothes, they would make a surprise appearance to attack American Alpha after their match.
The heart of the matter
The wardrobe change is the next step in evolving Primo and Epico Colon into more of a serious tag team. As the Shining Stars, it appeared that they would become that serious team coming off of the Los Matadores gimmick, but it would slowly become a running joke about selling timeshares in Puerto Rico.
What’s next?
The Colons took on American Alpha in a Beat The Clock Challenge to name a new #1 contender for The Usos’ Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships. Even though they upset American Alpha a week prior, they couldn’t defeat them this week and will look to start a new feud on the following SmackDown Live.
Author’s take
When the Shining Stars debuted I had hope that these great wrestlers could have a serious gimmick, but that didn’t last long. Now that they have donned the Colon name, it gives me renewed hope.
Since the shake-up, the WWE are presenting Primo and Epico in the way they should have been all along. Now if only we can get Carlito in the mix to create a stable.
