What's the story?
Zack Ryder has not had a good week. First, his tag team partner, Mojo Rawley, turned on him and then, Randy Orton took a few shots at him, completely out of nowhere like his RKOs. Just check out the following exchange:
Of course, puzzled, Ryder would enquire if everything was okay with Orton, and get a scathing response in return.
In case you didn't know...
Several superstars use social media to promote their feuds. Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega did a fantastic job for their big match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4th.
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens also took a few jabs at each other, ahead of their match on SmackDown Live this past week. We wonder if Zack Ryder is poised for a singles push following the dissolution of The Hype Bros, and if Orton's in his way.
We must say that Orton acts extremely heelish for a babyface though.
The heart of the matter
With the dissolution of the Hype Bros, it is clear that WWE has plans for both men as singles competitors. After all, Mojo Rawley did win the 'Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal' at WrestleMania 33.
Randy Orton could be a great opponent for Zack Ryder to face, as it would elevate his character immensely. The only problem with the scenario is that both men are babyfaces, at this point in time. Orton seems quite heelish at heart, from his behaviour though.
What's next?
Orton continues to be a top player on SmackDown Live, only without any sense of direction at this moment. It remains to be seen what plans WWE has for Zack Ryder, who was Intercontinental Champion as recently as only last year. Both men could have a great feud, though.
Author's take
All it could be is Orton being Orton on Twitter. I hope it is a little more than that, though. Orton has been more exciting on social media recently than he has on television.
