What's the story?
It seemed as if Randy Orton would answer Bobby Roode's WWE United States Title Open Challenge, this week on SmackDown Live. Unfortunately, Jinder Mahal would come down to play spoilsport, before the dream match would take place.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Orton made it known on the SmackDown Live Fallout Show that he didn't care about any Top 10 Lists. Moreover, he was surprised he even made it to the list, considering he'd RKOed everyone in the locker room.
In case you didn't know...
Randy Orton is one of the most successful wrestlers in the history of WWE. Of late, he's seemingly run out of steam, playing the role of the veteran while a new lot of superstars take their place in the spot that he once held.
Jinder Mahal tried to instigate the seeds of dissent between Orton and Roode based upon the Top 10 list. Orton, the veteran, had been ranked even lower than Bobby Roode.
The heart of the matter
Based on the events of SmackDown Live this week, Orton had this to say to Dasha Fuentes:
Well, Dasha. Let me make one thing perfectly clear. I don't care about any Top 10 List. I've got to admit I'm a little surprised that I even made the Top 10. I mean if I was one of my peers, I wouldn't vote for me. I've RKOed damn near everybody in the locker room. Literally.
Orton maintained that he did confront Bobby Roode to win the US Championship, but that didn't happen. It did not, however, mean that it wasn't going to happen in due time.
What's next?
Randy Orton has warned us already. He ended the interview with an ominous 'stay tuned'. RKOs galore may rain down upon unsuspecting superstars in WWE.
Author's take
I'm all for the Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode feud.
I think both of the performers are extremely gifted and can definitely steal the show if given the chance.
