The Raw after WrestleMania is known for its raucous audience and the crowd on the latest episode of the red brand started their involvement with a bang. After the opening promotional package highlighting WrestleMania 33 and the main event between Undertaker and Roman Reigns, Raw opened without announcers but simply with “Undertaker” chants from the Orlando crowd.
Undertaker probably wrestled his last match at WrestleMania 33, (although this hasn’t been officially confirmed) and the WWE decided to kick off tonight’s (April 3rd) broadcast showing respect to the retiring legend.
The respect and appreciation immediately turned to disgust and hatred as Roman Reigns made his way to the ring. Reigns pinned the Undertaker clean at WrestleMania much to the chagrin of the audience. Reigns grabbed a microphone to start the evening but was unable to utter a single word because of the belligerent group.
The crowd bombarded Reigns with chants of “F*ck You Roman”, “You Suck”, “Go Away”, “A**hole”, and “Shut The F*ck Up”.
Roman took his time while in the ring and embraced the chants. His only spoken line was “This is my yard now.” The line elicited more boos from the Raw audience as Reigns smirked and walked to the back.
It’s no secret that Roman Reigns is extremely disliked, especially when it comes to the 18-34 male demographic of WWE fans. The Raw after WrestleMania crowd is stocked full of fans that fit that demographic, which explains their reaction to him opening the show.
