It looks like putting on Goldberg first may not have been the best thing for Raw, as the viewership declined, with the post-Hell In A Cell show drawing 2.60 million viewers. This is down from last week’s 2.819 million viewers.
The first hour drew 2.747 million viewers; the second hour drew 2.617 million viewers and the final hour drew 2.436 million viewers. The number of viewers in the final hour is among the lowest in Monday Night Raw history.
Two weeks before this, when Goldberg returned, the overall viewership was 3.1+ million, with none of the three hours going below 3 million viewers, the first time that happened in ages. The likely reason was the other fans tuning in did not tune out, because they did not want to miss out on Goldberg.

Also, the viewership from the second to the third hour increased, which is also a rarity for Raw.
This week’s Raw featured the beginning of the build to Survivor Series. The New Day were named captains of their team. Charlotte was named the captain of her team, while the men’s captain was still undecided, but Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho made a case to be co-captains.
The male singles team has one spot left to fill, the women’s team has two spots left to fill, and the Tag Team team has four spots left to fill. There are still two more weeks to Survivor Series, so perhaps, they will arrange qualifying matches for the tag teams, like they did on Smackdown Live.
Raw also saw Roman Reigns’ second title defence of the US Championship, this time against Chris Jericho in the main event. The end of the show during his beat down by JeriKO, saw Reigns’ former Shield-brother, Seth Rollins come out and make the save, with the show ending with a tense stare down from across the ring between the two.
Both Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will not be featured next week on Raw, but on November 14th, both stars will be present in the Survivor Series go-home show. Given that Goldberg attacked Paul Heyman, it will be interesting to see if it turns out into an all-out brawl.
Here is Goldberg’s appearance from Monday night on Raw, where he even got physical with Rusev:
