What's the story?
SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon was an integral part of the proceedings at WWE Fastlane, the final stop before WrestleMania 34. Shockingly, his partner-in-crime Daniel Bryan was nowhere to be seen all evening.
There was much speculation over the internet with regard to why Bryan could not make it to Fastlane. The truth is that he was at his cousin Billy's big wedding.

In case you didn't know...
It is no secret that Shane McMahon has been at odds with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for a while now. At Fastlane, Kevin Owens would accidentally superkick Shane McMahon right in the face in the 6-Pack Challenge main event.
This would lead to a series of developments including Shane McMahon not allowing Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to win the big match and earn a spot at WrestleMania 34 against Shinsuke Nakamura. AJ Styles would eventually win the match and retain his WWE Championship.
The heart of the matter
There was much speculation with regard to where Daniel Bryan was when all of the action at Fastlane went down. The fact of the matter was that he was attending to a personal commitment with his lovely wife, Brie Bella.
This is not to suggest that he won't be a part of the proceedings in due time. In fact, we expect Bryan to be very involved in the aftermath of all that transpired at Fastlane, on the next SmackDown Live episode.
What's next?
It remains to be seen if Daniel Bryan will be cleared for WrestleMania. A Shane McMahon vs. Daniel Bryan match has been in the making for a long time. One wistfully wonders if it will ever happen though.
Author's take
Daniel Bryan has mentioned how painful it is to sit on the sidelines while the men and women of SmackDown Live take the spotlight. He believes that he will wrestle again, only he doesn't know where it will be.
It's absolutely depressing how someone who loves wrestling as much as Daniel Bryan cannot wrestle for WWE anymore, because of his health.
