What's the story?
Two time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair's live 70th Birthday celebration on this past Monday's episode of RAW came to a surprising end before it could even begin as The Nature Boy was assaulted by a returning Dave Batista, as he was about to leave his locker room.

During their segment, Batista and Triple H teased some heat between them when The Animal openly bragged about Triple H having never defeated him. This sprouted rumors that we may see another WrestleMania clash between them until Triple H tore his pectoral muscles at WWE Crown Jewel.
Any remaining hope for the match seemed to be dashed when Batista was announced to be starring in a reboot of the 1984 David Lynch classic, Dune.
The heart of the matter
In early February of this year, Batista was reportedly in talks with both WWE and All Elite Wrestling, with now seemingly hanging his hat back home in WWE. Batista returned to WWE RAW this past Monday and dished out a vicious assault on the birthday boy, Ric Flair. Batista then asked Triple H who was in the ring, "if he had his attention now".
Ric Flair has since commented on Batista's attack on Twitter, saying:
What's next?
It looks like we will be getting that Batista and Triple H match at WrestleMania after all. As of this writing, it is unknown what kind of contract Batista has signed with WWE, but it already looks like it will be a bigger hit than his 2014 return.
It is very possible that we may see more involvement from Flair in this angle, to help build up hype for the now pending Triple H vs. Batista WrestleMania encounter.
