In a recent interview with Sportingnews.com, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair discussed his illustrious wrestling career which spanned over four decades.
‘The Dirtiest Player in the Game’ has achieved more than 30 major championships in WWE, WCW, NWA, including a total of 16 World Championship reigns. Moreover, Flair won the 1992 Royal Rumble match, main-evented WrestleManias, and till date is the only two-time WWE Hall of Famer.
The Nature Boy commented that he didn’t aim to provide “memories for the future”, while he stepped inside the squared circle. He added that he wanted to deliver a solid performance whenever he had his wrestling gear on. Flair said:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"My legacy, I hope, is — and I feel pretty comfortable saying this — that I worked harder than anybody in the business and sometimes under the worst conditions. I never wanted to ever leave the crowd thinking they haven't gotten their money's worth.”
Courtesy the WWE Network and Youtube, Flair can recall the days of his wrestling career and “think about how much fun I did have.” Apart from crediting the streaming services, he also expressed his gratitude to the fans as they have been “gracious enough to keep my name out there”.
After retiring from his pro-wrestling career, Flair has worked in numerous non-wrestling roles. It's worth mentioning that, through the years, the thunderous amount of cheers for the Nature Boy has remained constant and he is grateful for such ovations:
“Fans still enjoy me and I enjoy them. I am thankful."
There have been several instances of pro-wrestlers living a costly ‘life on the road’. It must have been a little more expensive for the ‘Limousine Ridin’, Jet Flyin’, Kiss Stealin’, Wheelin Dealin’, Son of a Gun’, as he confessed during the interview:
“I'm doing financially better now than when I was wrestling."
Ric Flair appeared on the latest edition of RAW in an angle involving his daughter Charlotte and the RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. He is expected to be more frequent on the show on the back of a new deal with WWE. Watch his latest segment with his daughter:
