There have been many tales of Flair's amazing work in the ring and probably just as many about his exploits outside the squared circle.
The heart of the matter
"The Nature Boy" recently admitted he slept with 10,000 women in his life. This shocking revelation might have taken some off-guard, impressed a few, and made others ill. But it is what it is because he's "The Nature Boy" and he's just living up to his name even more with that kind of statistic.
The Nature Boy recently spoke to NBC Sports Radio where attention was brought to his claim that he has slept with 10,000 women in his life.
There are obviously some people who doubt those claims. But Ric Flair spoke like a true veteran when he started to break down the numbers.
"Well, if you do the math, I started when I was in seventh grade!" Flair laughed, "let me say that hypothetically, I slept with five people. You'd go to your friend next door and go, 'bulls--t!' If I had said, '250,' you'd go, 'bulls--t.' If I said, '5,000,' you'd say, 'oh, maybe.' I'm not far off on that number. It doesn't mean that everybody was Marilyn Monroe by any means, but I'm not far off. I wrestled. I was really good at three things: I wrestled, drinking, and talking, saying 'goodnight.'"
What's next?
Ric Flair just survived an awful near-death experience where he needed emergency surgery and had to have part of his bowel taken out and a pacemaker put in. But he seems to be doing fine on his way to becoming the old Nature Boy he once was.
Of course, he's going to change his ways a little bit and he has promised that he's done drinking and will start living better for not only himself but his family and his legends of loving fans.
Author's take
I really don't know what to say about this kind of thing. It's Ric Flair so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise, but when you break down the numbers it really is pretty astounding.
Sometimes I wonder how he was able to wrestle so many matches with all of that extracurricular activity going on.
But I guess you have to find something to occupy your time when you're the World Champion doing a spot show in a place where everything closes down at 8:00 PM except for the local watering hole and hotel.
