What's the story?
Recently on his podcast, WWE legend Stone Cold discussed the Roman Reigns situation and said that Reigns will have his greatest run if he turns heel.
Now, in a recent interview with The Express while on tour in the UK, The Big Dog has responded to the legend, giving his take on a possible heel turn in the future.
In case you didn’t know…
Reigns has seemingly been the chosen one of the company ever since the Shield split-up, but the WWE Universe has been extremely vocal in rejecting Reigns. Back in 2015, the fans were behind Daniel Bryan to win the Royal Rumble, but it was Reigns who ended up winning, much to the chagrin of the fans.

Ever since, the fans have rejected Reigns as the top guy, especially in his babyface gimmick. The WWE Universe has also been vocal in wanting a heel turn for the former World Champion, opining that he would best thrive in a heelish avatar.
The heart of the matter
Reigns has now given his own thoughts on a possible heel turn in the future and responded to Austin in his interview.
"I think everybody has their opinions. Like ice cream, everybody has their flavor, everybody has their opinion. It's Stone Cold Steve Austin. He definitely knows the area and the territory that I'm in.
He knows what it's like to pull the trigger and be a workhorse. So I think there's definitely a lot of truth in what he has to say and I value his opinion."
On whether a heel turn is coming in the future, and if he would like to turn heel, this is what he had to say.
"Is it going to happen? I can't guarantee that. It's one of those situations where you kind of got to take it week by week and just understand the role. I definitely think there is a lot of great truth to what he's thinking and his knowledge in the game. But Stone Cold is not my boss."
"Would I like to turn heel? I don't know. It's a weird question cause, aren't I already a heel? If I garnered that reaction, what's the point? If it's already happening, if I'm already being booed, why try and get booed?
However, there is no indication of any sort from WWE that they might turn Reigns heel in the foreseeable future. Indeed, his booking has been somewhat bizarre and haphazard ever since his loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34.
What's next?
Reigns is currently involved in a feud with Jinder Mahal and will probably take on the Modern Day Maharaja at Money in the Bank next month.
Author's take
WWE had numerous opportunities in the past to turn Reigns heel but have been adamant in not doing so. Sadly, all their attempts to get The Big Dog over have miserably failed and Reigns is getting booed more than ever.
This is a pity because Reigns is one of the most talented and hard workers in the entire company and has been an unfortunate victim of terrible booking over the years.
