AJ Styles arrived in WWE late in his career, but he quickly made up for all the lost time. The Phenomenal One has proven himself a legitimate main eventer in Vince McMahon's company.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Styles revealed that he tried joining WWE before his eventual debut in 2016. The former TNA Champion was supposed to receive a phone call from Triple H regarding a potential offer after taking to WWE trainer Terry Taylor.

The Game never called Styles, but the RAW star said that the incident didn't sadden him as he felt WWE already had the talent they required at the time.

"They had Daniel Bryan at the time, so why would they need AJ Styles? And I was OK with that. When I was trying to talk to Triple H for the first time, he was supposed to call me after talking to Terry Taylor. I just told him, 'Hey man, if there's an opportunity, then I'd like to have it.' Then Triple H was supposed to call me. He didn't. That's OK. I just assumed they had all the talent they needed."

AJ Styles will go down in history as one of the modern-day greats and the WWE chapter of his career certainly helped cement his legacy as a genuine wrestling legend.

#3. JBL would love to return and manage Baron Corbin

JBL was one of the most despised heels during his prime, but it's been a long time since the former world champion had a run on WWE TV.

JBL revealed during a recent interview with Inside The Ropes' Liam Alexander-Stewart that he would be willing to manage Baron Corbin (aka Happy Corbin).

Bradshaw had high praise for the SmackDown superstar, who has been one of the most consistent performers for WWE in recent years. JBL has rarely been pushed as a managerial figure, however, and he even revealed why that has been the case in his career:

"I Love Baron Corbin. I think Baron Corbin is a really smart guy, and I think Baron Corbin is a guy I would like to manage. The problem I have is I'm kind of like Colonel Parker. I'm tall, and so I can't manage a lot of people because I'm 6'6, and you don't want a manager that's bigger than the wrestler, and so I'm limited in who I can manage because of the size."
