We are back with another edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE News Roundup, a daily series in which we try to cover all the recent exciting developments in the world of the pro wrestling juggernaut. In today's piece, we will look at topics about Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar, among others.
Also, in one of the biggest news stories of the last 24 hours, a major name announced their departure from WWE. So, without further ado, let's begin.
#1. WWE RAW results
Monday Night RAW was filled with enthralling matches and moments as we inch closer to Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. The Bloodline was present on the red brand this week as they cost Jey Uso the Intercontinental Championship match against Bron Breakker.
We also saw appearances from NXT stars Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson while the Wyatt Sicks started their feud with the Final Testament and The Miz.
Here are the complete results from the show:
- World Tag Team Title number one contender's tournament round one: The New Day def. AOP
- Damage CTRL def. Judgment Day via DQ
- World Tag Team Title number one contender's tournament round one: LWO def. American Made
- Bron Breakker def. Jey Uso to become the new Intercontinental Champion
#2. Becky Lynch reflects on an old feud
Becky Lynch was involved in some of the most memorable feuds before taking an in-ring hiatus earlier this year. The Man's rivalry with Bianca Belair on the Road to WrestleMania 38 was one of the hottest programs on WWE TV.
Lynch recently reflected on the feud, noting that things got too dangerous during a segment between the two, which saw The EST cut off The Man's hair and hit multiple KODs:
"I really liked going to cut Bianca's hair [as a heel], but then she turned it around on me. [I liked it] just because we'd led up to that so much and I think people really thought that it was going to happen. They were so mad about it because Bianca has this cool, awesome braid that she's able to do just amazing things with. But then she turned it around and then cut my hair off. She was KOD-ing me way too close to them scissors, [and it] could have been very dangerous. I could have lost an eye," Lynch said.
Becky Lynch has stayed off the wrestling radar since her Steel Cage match against Liv Morgan. The Man is also not under contract with WWE but is expected to return to the company once she decides to don her wrestling boots again.
#3. Samantha Irvin announces WWE departure
Samantha Irvin shocked the wrestling world before last night's RAW as she revealed that she would be leaving the company immediately. The former RAW ring announcer thanked the fans and many notable names in her farewell post.
The 35-year-old has also noted that she revealed her intentions to WWE months ago. Nonetheless, her departure came as a major surprise to most.
#4. Brock Lesnar's major win called out
Brock Lesnar is one of the greatest of all time and has numerous notable wins in his illustrious career. However, one of the greatest victories of The Beast Incarnate's career came at WrestleMania XXX, where he ended The Undertaker's streak.
Many have questioned WWE's decision to go with Lesnar. Tommy Dreamer recently called it one of the worst decisions in pro wrestling history.
"I still to this day would say perhaps the worst decision in professional wrestling history. I just don't think Brock needed at the time either. The streak was as popular and as a draw for WrestleMania. If you think about it, he had a few more matches left in him. When you went to two days, that was a guaranteed main event right there where you didn't have to overthink what you had, who was going to be this next person to do it. Never would have done it; Brock didn't need it, you always do something like that for someone who needs it."
The Undertaker wrestled in a few matches after his streak was over. His last outing to the squared circle came in 2020 when he defeated AJ Styles in a Boneyard match.
