Not long ago, WWE Superstar Roman Reigns claimed that CM Punk is not as big a star as John Cena and The Rock. It is unclear if he made his statements to maintain his current gimmick off-screen or if he truly meant his words. Regardless, his comments about Punk immediately fetched a lot of reaction from wrestling fans of both promotions.
"Those statements are coming from bitter people, you know, who possibly thought they were better than they really were," said Reigns. "When it comes down to it, CM Punk was not as good or as over as a John Cena. [He] wasn't as good or as over and moved the needle like The Rock. It just wasn't what it was," said Roman Reigns.
When the company announced that Saturday witnessed the most-viewed and highest-grossing SummerSlam in its history, Reigns took the opportunity to assert his aforementioned point.
He took to Twitter and said, “Legitimate needle moving,” referencing his previous comparison between CM Punk and WWE legends. Since the shots are being fired from both sides now, it seems that we are officially in a war. Not bad news for wrestling fans, is it?
