#2 John Cena shares an update on his future after WWE SummerSlam
John Cena unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WWE SummerSlam. The two superstars engaged in a short yet entertaining rivalry that ended with The Tribal Chief retaining his gold. Cena was pleased with his reception and called the company his “home” in a recent interview.
"Unfortunately WWE don't give a silver medal. I think I will try to do the best I can until I feel I'm offending the consumer. There's nothing like the energy of being in that ring with the audience around. I've had the fortunate opportunity to do a whole lot of stuff. That energy is indescribable. That place is my home. I wouldn't be who I am without it. The audience is my family -- I want to be kind to them -- I still feel good even though I finished second so I still feel I have something to contribute," said John Cena.
While he loved his stay on SmackDown, he has confirmed that he will be stepping away for a while. After thanking everyone for ‘Summer of Cena,’ the 16-time champion said that he would “see us soon.”
