#3 Renee Paquette's conversation with Jon Moxley about leaving WWE
Since leaving WWE in August 2020, Renee Paquette has launched her Oral Sessions podcast. Meanwhile, current AEW star Jon Moxley's WWE run ended back in 2019.
During Paquette's latest Oral Sessions podcast episode with Mark Henry, she discussed WWE's recent spree of talent releases. The popular broadcast personality highlighted a conversation she had with her husband not too long ago. Paquette felt that both of them had left WWE at "the perfect time."
“It’s scary,” said Renee Paquette. “I mean, I keep saying… Jon and I were having a conversation the other day. I’m like, ‘Man, we got out at the perfect time.’ You know, Jon left a year, year and a half or so prior to me leaving. I left eight months ago, something like that, but to just like… I don’t know, we saw our own sort of future in the tea leaves about what we wanted to do just with our careers in general and were able to kind of pick and choose our own moments.”
Renee Paquette added that backstage morale is negatively affected if WWE performers constantly worry about job security.
On a positive note, leaving WWE can turn out to be a good development for several talents in the long run. Jon Moxley has been a key player in AEW thus far, and he even had a solid 277-day world championship reign in Tony Khan's promotion.
