#2 Edge's WWE SummerSlam entrance led to Gangrel's AEW appearance being canceled

Edge brought back The Brood's entrance and theme song during WWE SummerSlam 2021. Around the same time, Gangrel (leader of The Brood) was in talks with AEW to make a similar appearance.

However, given the unfortunate timing of Edge's SummerSlam entrance, All Elite Wrestling chose to go in a different direction.

Gangrel spoke about this topic on his Fangin N Bangin podcast:

"I was supposed to be on a plane to Milwaukee. [Monday], I get a return phone call [from AEW] saying, 'Oh man, we're so sorry, we're going in a different direction because WWE media stuff.' That entrance, everything Edge did was f***ing great." Gangrel continued, "The reason I wasn't so excited about it is because I knew, I was offered another great opportunity and the timing sucked."

According to Gangrel, it was AEW president Tony Khan's idea to bring him in for an appearance.

The former WWE Superstar congratulated Edge on his SummerSlam entrance during a recent conversation between them. Gangrel also noted that the Hall of Famer felt bad about how his talks with AEW had unfolded.
