#4 Seth Rollins reveals why he can dethrone WWE Champion Bobby Lashley
Former champion Seth Rollins believes that he has earned his current run and believes this to be his year. The Architect is confident about winning the WWE Championship but admits that it won’t be easy.
He talked about his intentions during his appearance on the Sports Guys Talking Wrestling podcast and said:
“Knock on wood, but that’s my spot. I feel like it’s my year. I’ve earned it, so we’ll see. I don’t think there is any chance that we’re main eventing WrestleMania without the WWE Championship. Before WrestleMania, we have to go to Elimination Chamber and we’ve got to win, which is not going to be an easy task. (...) We all have the same slim chance to walk out of there as champion.”
Rollins will compete against Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Riddle, and Austin Theory for the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber match. The five challengers have their sights set on The All Mighty’s gold, but Lashley is confident about walking out of the hellacious structure with his title intact.
#3 John Cena comments potentially changing WWE gimmick
WWE megastar John Cena recently discussed the potential flaws in his on-screen gimmick during an interview with GQ. He feels that his prolonged run as a babyface has led to a flawed character on screen that can be used to develop compelling storylines over the next decade.
Cena admitted to potentially becoming a heel but feels that the company will ultimately make the call.
“Would it have been great to be able to mess with the flaws of WWE John Cena? Oh my goodness, I think there’s another 10 years’ worth of story in there, but it’s not my choice. I don’t run the company,” said John Cena.
He also talked about his approach towards playing a babyface. John Cena said that he never had the choice to make his character a heel, and thus, he wanted to do the best with what he was asked to portray on screen.
He worked hard to keep up with the gimmick and did everything he could to present a virtuous character.
