#4 Sheamus reveals the brilliant idea that was rejected backstage in WWE
Before becoming the United States Champion at WWE WrestleMania 37, Sheamus was involved in a feud with Drew McIntyre. Both superstars are good friends in real life, and they borrowed elements from their actual friendship and used them for story-telling on screen. They feuded for the WWE Championship for a while that saw The Celtic Warrior finally return to the world title picture.
Sheamus recently revealed that he fought hard for a match against McIntyre at WrestleMania. Both superstars pushed for it backstage but ultimately were booked for a match at Fastlane instead.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
“We really were hoping this was gonna be WrestleMania,” Sheamus said. “That’s where we felt the feud should basically climax, should come to an end at WrestleMania, and I fought as hard as I could, we both did, to make that happen, but you do what you can do, you know. Make it the best way you can.”
Sheamus delivered an entertaining feud with Drew McIntyre, following which he went on to win the United States Championship. He is now set to defend his title against Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2021.
On the other hand, McIntyre can’t challenge for the WWE Championship as long as it rests on Bobby Lashley’s shoulders. The Scottish Warrior is currently feuding with Jinder Mahal, with both superstars scheduled for a match at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
