Welcome to the WWE News Roundup for May 19, 2024. In today's edition, we'll look at topics about Randy Orton and Roman Reigns.
Plus, Nia Jax's reaction after she disrespected Jade Cargill's daughter, and Uncle Howdy's potential return date. Without further ado, let's begin:
#1 First-time-ever match confirmed for Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown
Randy Orton is one of the favorites to become WWE King of the Ring this year. By defeating Carmelo Hayes on the latest episode of SmackDown, The Viper will be heading to the semifinals.

Orton's opponent for the next round is Bloodline member Tama Tonga. Interestingly, the two men will go one-on-one against each other for the first time. Their match will take place on May 24 during SmackDown, and the winner will head to the King and Queen of the Ring event in Saudi Arabia.
It should be interesting to see whether Randy Orton can reach the final, where he could face either Gunther or Jey Uso.
#2 Uncle Howdy's WWE return date possibly revealed
The latest Uncle Howdy QR code dropped on SmackDown during a tag team contest between DIY and Legado Del Fantasma. As usual, fans checked out the hint to understand what will happen next.
The code leads to a URL with the number "22423." This seems to be a postal code in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where WWE's King and Queen of the Ring event takes place on May 25.
While nothing is confirmed, fan speculation suggests that Uncle Howdy could return at World Wrestling Entertainment's next PLE:
#3 Injury update on Ivar
After Gallus attacked Ivar during the latest episode of NXT, WWE stated that the latter would be out of action indefinitely due to injury.
The legitimacy of the situation was initially questioned. However, Ivar eventually confirmed that he had a serious injury. The 40-year-old superstar wrote in a post that he was still figuring out options for his future:
Ivar added:
"No matter what happens, I owe it to everyone who ever believed in me to do everything I can to get back in that ring, under those lights, and in front of the most amazing fans on the planet, see you as soon as I can!"
#4 Nia Jax comments after disrespecting Jade Cargill's daughter
Nia Jax defeated Jade Cargill via disqualification on SmackDown. But more than the result, fans are talking about what happened between Jax and Cargill's daughter during the match.
The little girl was sitting near the ringside area, and at one point, Jax yelled at her by saying, "Your mom su**s!" The WWE star also responded to a fan who questioned her actions:
Clearly, Nia Jax stays true to her heel character!
#5 Was Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes the best WrestleMania main event?
Jey Uso recently gave his take on the WWE WrestleMania 40 showdown between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The WWE RAW Superstar briefly appeared in the match, spearing his brother Jimmy off the entrance ramp.
Speaking to Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, Jey revealed that he didn't know about the finish of the bout, where Reigns was finally dethroned:
"I didn't even know what was going down. They told me, this is your part, here's what you're going to do. I'm like, 'Alright, cool, I get to Spear my brother off the stage, cool.' I'm so concentrated on my spot, then I don't know what's going down, then they tell me the rest of what's happening. I made sure after I did what I did to hurry up and kind of get to the back so I could continue watching the match, because I automatically turned into a fan again. I think it was the best main event in WrestleMania ever. My favorite part might have been when Undertaker popped up."
Roman Reigns took a break from World Wrestling Entertainment after losing his title at WrestleMania 40. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes, the new Undisputed WWE Champion, will defend his gold against Logan Paul at King and Queen of the Ring.
