#5 "We were never on the same page" — Jerry Lawler on real-life animosity with WWE SmackDown commentator Michael Cole
During the recent edition of WWE's The Bump, Jerry Lawler discussed his longtime equation with Michael Cole.
Lawler revealed that both of them had issues behind-the-scenes several years ago:
Meet John Cena's dad HERE
“I knew that there was animosity or whatever between Michael Cole and I from the first moment I met him, the first time I shook hands with Michael Cole. We were never on the same page. Even though we worked together for so many years, side by side, I always felt that little bit of underlying animosity there from Michael. Then it finally just spilled over [and became a storyline].”
Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole got involved in a feud with each other in December 2010. Their feud led to a singles match at WrestleMania 27 with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee.
Lawler originally won this match, but this decision was reversed by the Anonymous RAW General Manager, who awarded the victory to Cole instead. After WrestleMania, Lawler defeated Cole in a Kiss My Foot match at WWE Over The Limit 2011 to eventually win their whole rivalry.
Michael Cole also spoke about their WrestleMania match on The Bump, confirming that he and Jerry Lawler are now good friends.

Bliss and Murphy were previously engaged, but their relationship ended in 2018. Both WWE Superstars continue to be good friends even after they split up from each other.
