Big E won the WWE Championship earlier this week on Monday Night RAW. Before the show, he had sent out a warning about his intentions to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.
The show’s co-main event saw Bobby Lashley successfully defend his title against Randy Orton. Unfortunately, The All Mighty hurt his knee while attacking Riddle and Orton after his match.

Lashley then had to face Big E, but he initially declined. Big E kept provoking him until the latter gave in and accepted the challenge. This led to their brief yet entertaining match, which ended with the New Day member winning the WWE Championship - his first world title in the promotion.

In a Twitter conversation with AEW’s Stu Grayson, Big E revealed that he was thinking about hugging the late Brodie Lee after his match:
"I couldn't stop thinking about seeing and hugging him after the match. What a tremendous man our friend was," Big E tweeted.
Mustafa Ali also took to his Twitter account and said that Lee would have been so happy to see Big E win the top title in the company.
