#3. WWE SmackDown Superstar Mustafa Ali is on paternity leave
As per Fightful Select, Mustafa Ali was originally slated to be present at this year's WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view. However, he had asked for a hiatus well in advance. With the recent news of his daughter's birth, Ali is currently on paternity leave.
The Smackdown star shared an unaired promo via Twitter earlier this month, which centered around a new gimmick that, unfortunately, won't see the light of day - due to reasons beyond his control. While Ali's absence from television was speculated by some to be a consequence of the nixed storyline, that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
As far as Survivor Series 2021 is concerned, WWE needed 25 men to book The Rock's 25th Anniversary Battle Royal. The company managed to fill those spots despite Mustafa Ali's hiatus, who received an extended break as a result.
WWE SmackDown Superstar Kofi Kingston welcomed a daughter several days ago, and The New Day member is on paternity leave as well. Both Kingston and Ali had their last televised matches on the October 29th episode of the blue brand.
