Welcome to the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's WWE News and Rumor Roundup. Today includes some big stories involving The Rock, Becky Lynch, and others.
The Man's status with the company seems to be much clearer now. Meanwhile, a current superstar is willing to join The New Day after their heel turn. We also have an unfortunate update on a major star's injury following a lot of speculation.
So, with that in mind, let's get into today's stories.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#1. Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and other WWE stars at Netflix media event
There was reportedly a huge media event on Tuesday at the Netflix Headquarters in Los Angeles, California. WWE was represented there, with the promotion moving Monday Night RAW to the streaming platform in 2025.
While the details of the event are yet to be made public, PWInsider has reported that Becky Lynch was on the list of talents scheduled for the Netflix event, along with her husband Seth Rollins. WWE CCO Triple H was also on it, as were CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, and a few other major stars.
If The Man was indeed at the event, this is confirmation that she will return sooner rather than later. Lynch's contract expired six months ago and while she has been enjoying her time away from the ring, Big Time Becks has confirmed that she will be back.
#2. Jade Cargill's injury is legitimate
There has been a lot of talk and conflicting reports regarding Jade Cargill's injury status ever since she was written off WWE television via a backstage attack. Some have reported she is legitimately hurt, while others have stated it's only part of a storyline and that she is fine.
The latest update suggests that The Storm is indeed injured. According to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone, Cargill will be out until the end of 2024. His report states she will spend the rest of the year to heal up from whatever injury she has:
"Jade Cargill's injuries are indeed legitimate, and she is not booked to return to #WWE for the rest of the year in order to heal up," he tweeted.
#3. The new New Day?
The heartbreaking events of this Monday's episode of RAW have been well-documented. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods rejected Big E's offer to manage them, following his return during The New Day's 10th anniversary celebration. They berated The Powerhouse of Positivity and turned heel.
So, while Big E is officially out of the group, many have speculated over who (who?) could fill the void, if anyone even does. NXT Superstar Wes Lee would love to take that spot, responding to a fan on X who wrote about him potentially joining Kingston and Woods to form a heel trio:
"Yall wouldn’t be ready for that…," tweeted Lee.
It remains to be seen if The New Day will find a replacement for Big E or if Woods and Kingston continue as a duo. If it was available, Lee would be an interesting choice for such a role.
#4. The Rock's WrestleMania 41 status
While it should seem like The Rock is a lock for WrestleMania 41, that isn't the case. Despite his many teases and return at Bad Blood in October, The Final Boss is currently not scheduled for The Show of Shows in April 2025.
Dr. Chris Featherstone has reported that WWE has decided to make plans for WrestleMania 41 without The Rock. That is the case as things stand, but it could seemingly change at any moment given the promotion's interest in using the Hollywood star:
"#WWE has decided to move forward in creative plans as if The Rock will not appear at #WrestleMania 41, as of now. I have been informed that these plans could "change at any moment," and WWE is definitely interested in using him if he becomes available, but he is not currently scheduled to compete," he tweeted.
The Final Boss has been slated to face either Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41, so it would be a disappointment if he doesn't compete at the event.
