Today was not a 'Happy Rusev Day' for WWE's Rusev and Lana. Sources in E! Network have informed that the couple has been removed from the cast of Total Divas for various reasons.

In real life, the couple got married back in 2017 and have had their life showcased on WWE Total Divas starting with Season 6 in 2016, to the present day.

The heart of the matter

As reported by WrestlingNews.com, Rusev and Lana appeared on the podcast "Chasing Glory" with former WWE ring announcer Lillian Garcia. During the second portion of the podcast, the couple revealed they would not be returning to Total Divas, next season. The reason being is due to 'focus groups' not liking them, and feeling as if they're not a fit for the program. An emotional Lana went on the explain the situation.

“There’s so many things in edit that I was royally screwed over,” Lana said. “They take someone saying something from one thing and put it there. In edit, they can do whatever they want and that’s out of your control. If they want to make me more annoying and I have to play that annoying girl, they’ll do that.”
