Last night on RAW, Sasha Banks came out to the ring to make an important announcement. Quite a few fans actually assumed that she was going to announce that she was being forced to take a short break from wrestling due to her recent injury record but to their surprise, Sasha announced her return to the ring on 25th of September at WWE’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view. She will be facing none other than the current WWE Women’s Champion for Raw, Charlotte. She also tweeted this morning that she is a hundred percent prepared for her fight with Charlotte despite the rumors of her still being injured.

Sasha joined WWE’s promotion NXT in June, 2012 and since then she has come a long way, even being recognized as one of the ‘Four Horsewomen’, revolutionaries in women’s wrestling along with Becky Lynch, Bayley and the current WWE Women’s Champion, Charlotte. Sasha’s first big win came at NXT TakeOver: Rival where she defeated Lynch, Bayley and Charlotte in a Fatal-4-Way match for the NXT Women’s Championship, the match being highly praised by both fans and critics. She managed to retain till NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn where she lost to Bayley thus ending her 192-day reign.

Her debut on RAW in July 2015 was quite eventful as Stephanie McMahon came out to introduce the three new members of the roster: Sasha, Becky Lynch and Charlotte as the ‘revolution’ that was about to happen in the then-Divas division. Sasha’s first WrestleMania appearance came as a triple threat match at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE Women’s Championship with Becky and Charlotte which proved to be one of the best matches of the night. The night was also the night that the WWE Women’s Championship belt was announced and was introduced by Lita at the event which replaced the WWE Divas Championship. This was, in a way an achievement of the three wrestlers and their technical and hard-hitting wrestling style as opposed to the “Diva” image of most previous generations of women’s wrestling in WWE.

More recently at last month’s SummerSlam, Sasha faced Charlotte as the WWE Women’s Champion as a rematch after winning it from Charlotte for the first time on the July 25th episode of Raw. She lost the belt and was reportedly taken off the road to heal up some niggling injuries, before making an appearance on Raw last night.
