Sean Combs recently posted a video on Twitter on his birthday and announced a name change, declaring that he shall be called "Brother Love" or "Love" henceforth. He also stressed that he would not be answering to any of his other monikers like Puff Daddy, P-Diddy or Puffy.
The heart of the matter
Sean Combs, after posting the Twitter video received a lot of flak online from wrestling fans and Bruce Prichard also replied to his tweet.
P-Diddy then responded to the criticism from Prichard and the IWC by coming out with another video where he said that he was just joking about the name change. He said that "he cannot play around with the internet" and it was part of one of his alter-egos.
He set the record straight that people can still continue to address him by any of his alter-egos.
What's next?
Bruce Prichard challenged Combs to a fight in the wrestling ring when he spoke to TMZ but Combs hasn't responded to that yet. We will have to wait and watch how this story unfolds further.
Author's Take
Sean Combs has a long history of adopting multiple nicknames and this case just might be a case of him unknowingly adopting a name already taken.
Bruce Prichard's response made it a great feud and if Puffy does respond, it would be highly entertaining, but seeing him get into the ring is a far-fetched possibility.
