What’s the story?
RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announced that Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan will defend their Raw Tag Team Championships against Cesaro & Sheamus at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
In case you didn’t know

The heart of the matter
During a backstage segment, Cesaro & Sheamus requested their rematches for the RAW Tag Team Championships when Angle approved and announced that their rematch would take place at the Royal Rumble.
Rollins & Ambrose had been competing against Cesaro & Sheamus since SummerSlam 2016 and the Kingslayer continues his feud against The Bar teaming with the former member of American Alpha.
Cesaro & Sheamus are currently tied with Joey Mercury & John Morrison and Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel for the most reigns with the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships (formerly the WWE Tag Team Championships). A win at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view for The Bar would push the team to a record-breaking four tag title reigns.
Jordan’s character has been booked to be a hindrance to Roman Reigns and Rollins and a loss at the hands of Cesaro & Sheamus due to Jordan’s actions could set the wheels in motion for his rumoured heel turn.
What’s next?
Cesaro, Sheamus, and Rollins have been putting on fantastic tag team matches since Summer 2017 and Jordan’s in-ring ability is considered by many to be far above average.
Expect both teams to put on an enthralling championship bout at the first WWE pay-per-view of the year.
Author’s take
The Royal Rumble card just got that much more interesting with the announcement of this match. It won't be surprising to see the titles change hands once more, as Rollins & Jordan are clearly not a long-term tag team.
