WWE News: Seven names announced for WWE Global Cruiserweight Series

The Global Cruiserweight Series will be contested amongst the best Cruiserweights in the world

WWE CEO Triple H had announced in January that a Global Cruiserweight Series will be organised by WWE between some of the best Cruiserweights around the globe. The tournament will take place around June or July this year and will be exclusive to the WWE Network. The finals of the Series will be in September.

The series will consist of 32 Cruiserweights and the tournament will be hosted at Full Sail University in Florida, home of NXT. Evolve Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Gueriila and Revolution Pro Wrestling will be hosting qualifying matches for the tournament.

Reports from allwrestlingnews.com reveal that during a recent media call to promote NXT Takeover : Dallas, seven names were comfirmed by Triple H as participating in this series. They are :

Zack Sabre Jr. (PWG Champion), Rich Swann (NXT), Tommaso Ciampa (NXT and PWG), Noam Dar (Europe), Johnny Gargano (special deal with NXT), Ho Ho Lun (Japan), and Akira Tozawa (Dragon Gate).

The current plan is to make this tournament an annual event exclusive to the award winning WWE Network. Other participants will be announced soon.
