What’s the story?

The WWE has announced several matches for tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live.

WWE has confirmed Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens will be competing in addition to the WWE Championship face-off segment. Besides, a few other matchups have also been scheduled for the WWE’s Tuesday night flagship show.

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE often hypes up its main shows by adding enthralling matches to the event—with most of the announcements usually being made just hours prior to the event.

This week’s edition of SmackDown Live will be the go-home episode ahead of the Clash of Champions PPV that will be exclusively presented by the blue brand.

The heart of the matter

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live will prominently feature a match between ‘The Artist’ Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens.

Additionally, as we’d previously reported, tonight’s show will have WWE Champion AJ Styles face off against challenger Jinder Mahal ahead of their championship match at Clash Of Champions.

Furthermore, The Riott Squad will compete against Carmella, Lana & Tamina Snuka; whereas Rusev & Aiden English will face WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos in a non-title match. Breezango are set to return with another edition of ‘The Fashion Files’ in which they’ll pay tribute to The Ascension.

What’s next?

Tonight’s edition of SmackDown Live (December 12th, 2017) airs from the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The edition will be followed by the upcoming SmackDown brand-exclusive Clash Of Champions pay-per-view which takes place at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on December 17th.

Author’s take

The go-home edition of SmackDown seems to be great, and although AJ Styles has been getting the better of Jinder Mahal over the past few days, anything can happen in the WWE and it’d be folly to count the Modern Day Maharajah out.

As for The Riott Squad, although they’ve not been able to get over with the fans as compared to Absolution, perhaps a decent showing tonight could get them over with the WWE Universe.
