WWE Superstar Sheamus is aiming for a clean sweep in his Best of Seven series of matches against Swiss Superman, Cesaro. The Celtic Warrior drew first blood after beating Cesaro in the first match at SummerSlam on Sunday.
The two WWE Superstars have faced each other numerous times in the past one year, but this latest feud started after the brand split when Cesaro got the better of Sheamus in two consecutive matches on Raw before the recently concluded pay-per-view. The duo are set to clash again next week in Houston for their second match.
Sheamus highlights the similarity between him and Cesaro, before underlining his superiority by bringing to the fore The Swiss Superman’s lack of WWE World Championship winning credentials. He said:
Meet John Cena's dad HERE
“We both kind of came from the same path. We both left our home country. We both sacrificed a lot to get here. We bring a tremendous tough European style with us. We love to fight. We're very ambitious. We're success-driven. But unlike me, Cesaro's never been World Heavyweight Champion.
This "Best of Seven Series" has the two top athletes, the two top Superstars, in the WWE. I don't care what anyone says. As far as I'm concerned, there's nobody better than me. We're going to go at it with our physical style to prove who's the best and use each other as a stepping stone to get to the top of RAW and become the Universal Champion.
The Celtic Warrior revealed that he is getting a better read of the opponent after every game and stated that he wants to finish the series in only four games, by winning all of them.
We're already very familiar with each other and our moves, but you definitely adapt as you go along. You'll always learn more about your opponent over the course of these matches. It's different watching their matches and then being in there with them where you know what to do and how to counter certain moves.
Normally, I'd say "Oh, I'd better be careful for the first couple" but we're both gung-ho and we both want to get that first win. We both want to make the mark and set the tone for the series. For me, I want to win it and end it four to nothing. That's what I want. I don't want to go for seven matches, you know what I mean? [laughs].
Meanwhile, Cesaro has expressed his discontent after being overlooked for the Fatal 4-Way match to become the second WWE Universal Champion, after Finn Balor relinquished the championship due to a shoulder injury suffered in the game against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
