Today’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view certainly exceeded all our expectations, as The King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura outlasted 29 other resilient men to win the 2018 Royal Rumble match.
Following his massive win at the Wells Fargo Center earlier in the day, Nakamura gave a post-match backstage interview and also reacted to his win through numerous tweets.

In case you didn’t know…
During today’s Royal Rumble match, former NXT Champion and SmackDown Live superstar Shinsuke Nakamura was the 14th entrant in the match, as The King of Strong Style put up a clinical performance from start to finish. Competing in his first ever Royal Rumble match, Nakamura eliminated the likes of Sami Zayn, 16-time World Champion John Cena, and lastly “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns to win the Royal Rumble match.
The heart of the matter
In Nakamura’s post-match backstage interview, “The Artist” revealed the exact reason why he decided to choose AJ Styles as his opponent for WrestleMania 34, as Nakamura stated that his upcoming match against Styles in New Orleans will be at the peak of the mountain, when it comes to having big matches across the entire world.
Additionally, Nakamura also weighed in on the fact that he had two options, but the reason why he chose AJ Styles as his WM opponent is that he believes that the WWE Universe wants to see him and “The Phenomenal One” finally square off one-on-one inside a WWE ring.
Furthermore, Nakamura also posted a heartfelt tweet where he thanked the WWE Universe for supporting him in his journey in the WWE so far.
What’s next?
AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura will now collide in a rematch from Wrestle Kingdom 10, which took place at the Tokyo Dome in 2016. WrestleMania 34 will take place later this year, on the 8th of April at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

A rematch between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura is what the WWE Universe has been waiting for and now we are finally going to see these two amazing superstars compete one more time inside the squared circle, and this time it is slated to take place in a WWE ring.
