What's the story?
WWE Raw's 25th Anniversary show kicked off with Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon in the middle of the ring, addressing the crowd. They thanked everyone who was responsible for Raw behind the scenes and the fans, before showing a compilation of some of the best moments on Raw over the past 25 years.
They went on to thank one more person and called out their father, Vince McMahon to grace the ring. He would not be the only figure to make a return in that opening segment.

In case you didn't know...
Vince McMahon started Monday Night Raw 25 years ago and created history. Over the years he was one of the undeniable parts of Raw, be it on the commentary table, as the 'Evil Mr McMahon' who tried his best to make Stone Cold's life hell, or even as the Chairman of the company behind the scenes.
In more recent years, Vince has taken a step back from his colourful on-screen personality and dedicated his time to work backstage. His most memorable moments were with Steve Austin on Raw during the Attitude Era.
The heart of the matter
Vince came out and was handed a plaque by his children in commemoration of his time in WWE. He was given a standing ovation by the fans in the stadium, but he was playing 'the heelish Mr McMahon'. He called the plaque cheap and compared it to the crowd in Brooklyn.
He was interrupted by the stand of glass shattering, and the crowd cheered like they had so many times before during the Attitude Era as Stone Cold made his way to the ring. Vince McMahon begged with Austin, saying that he had grown old over the years, and lived in a 'retirement community'. He directed Stone Cold's attention to Shane and told him that he was still in his prime.
Shane was promptly hit with a Stunner by Austin, and Mr McMahon celebrated with him by drinking beers. Stone Cold lulled him into a sense of security and just when Vince was about to leave the ring, Stone Cold hit him with the Stunner.
He hit Shane with another Stunner and went into the crowd to celebrate.
What's next?
Stone Cold's return was just for this one night, to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Raw with one of the most iconic spots of the Attitude Era, and made for nostalgia.
Author's take
This is maybe the last time we saw Vince getting stunned by Stone Cold. Vince is too old to be taking bumps, and this iconic spot which defined the Attitude Era was a special moment on the 25th Anniversary Show of Raw.
